  4.     A printed copy of these installation and startup instructions may be
  5. obtained by making the drive containing this disk be the default drive and
  6. typing, from DOS,    TYPE README>PRN:     .
  7.     This software to allow better use of Toshiba Printers with VOLKSWRITER
  8. DELUXE is a "FREEWARE" product.  You may use it, copy it, distribute it, but
  9. you may not sell it.  If you use it and like it, you may express your
  10. satisfaction by sending a contribution ($15 to $25 seems like a reasonable
  11. range) to:

  17.     To INSTALL the Toshiba Printer Tables, place the disk with this file in
  18. Drive a:.  Then with Drive a: as the default drive, type COPYPRTR B: where B:
  19. is the DRIVE AND PATH designator where you want the printer table files
  20. copied. Follow the instructions on the screen.  Seven files will be copied.  I
  21. recommend copying to a backup copy of your VOLKSWRITER disk, or to your hard
  22. disk.
  23.     To get INSTRUCTIONS AND HINTS FOR USE, place the disk with this file in
  24. Drive a:.  With Drive a: as the default drive, type  COPYINST B:  where B: is
  25. the DRIVE AND PATH indicating where you want the instructions copied.  Follow
  26. instructions on the screen.  Seven files will be copied.  Those are
  27. VOLKSWRITER text and format files. They should be put on a disk (or directory)
  28. where you keep  VOLKSWRITER text and format files that you want to save.  If
  29. you wish to keep them with the printer tables, you may copy them to the disk
  30. with the VOLKSWRITER program files.
  31.     Next, start VOLKSWRITER.  Retrieve file INSTVXPT.RCE with VOLKSWRITER.
  32. Print the file by positioning the cursor at the beginning and hitting ALT-F1.
  33. You'll need 8.5" by 11" continuous forms in your printer.  If you do not have
  34. those, or do not have a tractor feed, change the formats IN12.FMT, INCOND.FMT,
  35. IN12TITL.FMT IN12HS.FMT and, IN12INDT.FMT to match your situation and print
  36. the file.  Note, you may need to go to some effort to be sure that the
  37. embedded formats used by INSTVXPT.RCE can be accessed by VOLKSWRITER.  As
  38. provided, the format files are expected to be on the drive you normally use
  39. for storing text and format files. You will need to put the disk you made
  40. using the COPYINST B: command in that drive.  Alternately, you can use the
  41. REPLACE (alt-F7) feature in VOLKSWRITER to change "..format" to "..formata:"
  42. (or whatever drive\path is appropriate) when needed in the INSTVXPT.RCE file.
  43. Be sure to read the instructions in the VOLKSWRITER manual, page 5-16 before
  44. doing that.
  45.     Finally, to make a duplicate copy of all the printer table, instruction,
  46. and copying files, place this disk in a drive, say B:.  Place a blank
  47. formatted disk in another drive, say A:.  They type  B:COPYALL B: A:  and
  48. follow the instructions on the screen.
